  • 29th February 2020 – First case confirmed in Ireland

  • 11th March 2020 – The spread of Covid-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO)

  • 12th March 2020 – Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s landmark speech from Washington

  • 24th March 2020 – All non-essential shops to close

  • 27th March 2020 – Everyone in Ireland told to stay at home with only specific listed exemptions

  • 21st October 2020 – Ireland’s second nationwide lockdown: Level 5 restrictions

  • 1st December 2020 – Level 3 restrictions (with variations) (with special measures for Christmas)

  • 24th December 2020- Level 5 restrictions

  • 30th December 2020- The first Covid-19 vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech will be administered in Ireland
